LENEXA, Kan. – City Wide Maintenance, the nation’s leading building maintenance management company, hosted its 16th annual franchise convention and awards ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel San Diego - Mission Valley from February 24-26.
This year’s convention theme—“Believe it. Achieve it.”—inspired franchisees to find their “why” by embracing the company’s “why”: to make a positive impact on the people City Wide serves, so its ripple effect is far and wide. A soaring eagle, which was paired with the motto to create the convention logo, further symbolized what every franchisee embodies—vision, strength, determination and fearlessness.
Throughout the three-day convention, City Wide franchisees and other team members from across the nation attended a series of high-level breakout sessions. These focused on fundamental development topics including strategic business planning, managing through influence, recruiting employees and other workshops aimed to enhance each location’s operations and sales performance.
Additionally, several transformative company-wide updates were presented, such as a new internal training program, named “City Wide YOU!,” and an innovative plan to incorporate more technology into the brand’s CRM system to better manage client contracts, monthly billing and independent contractor relationships.
“Every year, our goal is to provide timely, quality content that can grow our franchisees’ teams and business profitably, all while creating a place to connect with peers, share best practices, and have fun,” said Jeff Oddo, president of City Wide. “In City Wide’s 58 years, we’ve created a viable franchise business model that is making waves in the building maintenance industry… so much so that 100 percent of the system just came off of their best revenue year ever. There’s an abundance of exciting developments happening this year, and with a push toward continuous learning and process improvement, we’re not slowing down any time soon.”
Making City Wide’s ripple even more impactful, this year’s convention incorporated a charitable giveback component for a local nonprofit. Franchisees, their employees, sponsors and home office employees made generous cash and check contributions, totaling $12,000 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego.
On Tuesday evening, an awards ceremony wrapped up the annual convention by giving special recognition to franchisees and their team members who performed exceptionally in sales, revenue generation, performance and other operations metrics.
