Barbara Moran-Goodrich Revives Moran Name and Puts Family Values at Company Core
CHICAGO, IL – Moran Industries, founded in 1990 by Dennis Moran and his youngest daughter Barbara, has rebranded from the inside out with Barb’s new ownership of the company. Growing up with the business and in the automotive aftermarket industry, Barb recognized the strength of a company to be in its family values, rebranding Moran Industries as Moran Family of Brands.
Among the standard rebranding practices—new name, new logo, new tagline and website—Barbara Moran-Goodrich wanted a new company culture that stemmed from the values held by each of their employees and franchisees while also representing the multiple trademarks that they hold.
“As a multi-brand franchisor, I felt that we needed to update our corporate name and image to better represent the many franchisees that are a part of our system,” Moran-Goodrich said. “We also spent a period of time re-developing our business philosophy and determined that a change in name would better emphasize our belief in how we manage the company and our relationship with our franchisees.”
After holding nearly every position in the company, from an administrative secretary to a franchisee, Barbara Moran-Goodrich led the company as President and CEO in 1999 until she bought the business from her father in 2010—becoming the first woman to own and operate a major auto repair company. The most comprehensive auto care model in the $300 billion industry with over 140 branded locations across the country, Moran Family of Brands is comprised of six different brands, including Alta Mere, Dr. Nick’s Transmissions, SmartView Window Solutions, Mr. Transmission, Multistate Transmissions and Milex Complete Auto Care.
Soon after Moran Industries became Moran Family of Brands, Barb brought the auto aftercare company back to its roots, with a foundation of commitment and desire to support their franchisees and ensure their success as entrepreneurs and small business owners. With family values at the core of rebranding, Barb made a point to reach out to the franchisees, speaking with them directly about where they wanted to see change and improvements.
