DANBURY, Conn. – Franchising is about to take flight. Thrillz, the innovative family entertainment center, inspired by America’s craze for ninja warrior-style challenges, announced its plans to expand through franchising. Based in Danbury, Connecticut, Thrillz is eager to bring the thrill of free falling to communities worldwide.
Husband and wife duo Rob and Lisa Cannon are the founders of Thrillz. Each developed their business acumen while excelling on Wall Street, where they first met early in their professional careers. Lisa was a trader while Rob served as a portfolio manager and trader. Together they have a combined 35 years of Wall Street experience. Plus, the Cannons are not rookies to franchising – they currently own a Bounce! Trampoline Sports franchise. Their love for bringing excitement and joy to guests with Bounce! led to the launch of Thrillz. Two years ago, when the space next to their Danbury, Connecticut Bounce! location became available, they saw it as an opportunity to create the next wave of affordable family fun.
“We jumped at the opportunity to design the next big indoor concept in family entertainment. After all the research and creative planning, we knew we had developed a game-changing experience – a sure-fire crowd pleaser,” said Lisa. Together, they assembled a world-class team of designers and engineers to develop Thrillz, including rigging and safety professional Jason Clemence, who has worked with notable acts such as Cirque du Soleil, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Phish and others. “With the help of our hardworking team, we have built a state-of-the-art concept founded upon innovation, cleanliness, safety and exhilarating family fun. Thrillz is a one-of-a-kind brand and it’s exciting knowing our guests are experiencing something like never before.”
The world’s first high flying adventure park allows children and adults to experience the adrenaline-pumping rush of free falling from two-story obstacles onto gigantic stunt-man airbags. The variety of challenges include an Indiana Jones-style rolling log, a huge rotating sweeper, zip-lines, swinging circus trapezes, 3D climbing walls and many other elements. Thrillz has additional revenue-building activities including a laser tag arena, axe-throwing booths, 360 virtual reality roller coaster, prize arcade, eSports gaming arena, snack bar and more in development.
Thrillz locations are typically 28,000 to 40,000 square feet with a minimum ceiling height of 20 feet to the bottom of the joists, though they can be larger if a particular market calls for it. The modular nature of the Thrillz High Flying Adventure Park design makes it easy and affordable to refresh the park with new attractions, while providing ample opportunity to spark fresh revenue streams. The robust business model offers a high-performing concept with outstanding earning potential. According to the company’s Item 19 in its Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD), revenue figures at its original location include impressive sales of more than $1.8 million and a strong EBITDA of 33.35 percent for the first year of operation.
“We created a park that caters to people of all ages – children celebrating birthdays, companies hosting team building outings, families looking for a unique way to spend their weekend and everything in between,” added Rob. “Our vision is to be the most innovative and fun family entertainment center in the world. As we grow Thrillz through franchising, it gives us the opportunity to further innovate our brand.”
Thrillz is actively seeking a variety of qualified candidates, including single-unit and multi-unit franchisees, as well as investment groups. Ideal Thrillz franchisees are business-minded entrepreneurs looking to grow with a fun, innovative and forward thinking business. The initial franchise fee for a single-unit franchise is $60,000, with discounts for multi-unit developers. Qualified franchise candidates must have a minimum of $500,000 in liquid assets. The total investment for Thrillz High Flying Adventure Park ranges between $2,003,467 to $2,967,667 depending on location and size.
