DANVILLE, Calif. – Leading superfood concept and allergy-friendly café Vitality Bowls is poised to expand its footprint in 2020 after wrapping a strong year of growth, including a nearly 30 percent increase in total gross sales from the year before and a dynamic growth phase including a combined 40 new locations and signed agreements in 2019.
“After a strong year of sales and franchise growth, it’s an exciting time for us to look ahead to 2020 with the incredible momentum of our franchise system driving us forward,” said Roy Gilad, CEO of Vitality Bowls. “The results of 2019 were a strong indicator of what our franchise system is capable of and now we’re ready to use that growth as a springboard to continue to propel us forward. We’re proud of our success but we remain focused on our future and the continued expansion of Vitality Bowls.”
Vitality Bowls expanded its footprint in North America in 2019 with 23 newly signed agreements and 17 new store openings. These developments resulted in a 29 percent year-over-year increase in gross sales from 2018 to 2019, with all signs pointing to that momentum continuing in 2020.
The brand’s growth also included entering into five new markets – adding Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio and Washington to the extensive list of communities Vitality Bowls serves.
In addition to the momentum of the franchise’s growth and overall sales, the brand also welcomed new leadership with David Malinowski joining as COO. As COO, Malinowski is responsible for the national strategic and operational leadership supporting franchisee sales and operations, as well as furthering the franchise opportunity for the brand as a whole.
“The start of the new year is always an opportunity to take stock of what lead to our success and ensure we’re ready to continue growing as a brand, and 2020 is no exception,” Gilad added. “We would not be in the position we are to continue expanding and reaching new communities without the incredible work of our corporate team and franchisees in 2019. We are ready to make 2020 the best year yet for Vitality Bowls and the customers we serve.”
Originating in Northern California, Vitality Bowls has solidified itself as America’s superfood café – combining a dynamic café vibe with a unique collection of menu items containing high nutritional values and extraordinary tastes. The brand specializes in açaí bowls – a thick blend of the Amazon’s antioxidant-rich açaí berry, topped with a variety of superfoods. All items are made to order and prepared in a kitchen designed to avoid cross contact for customers with food allergies. All of the brand’s bowls and smoothies are free of ingredient fillers such as ice, frozen yogurt or artificial preservatives, giving the purest taste possible.
