BrightStar Care Eyes Pennsylvania Expansion as Aging in Place Demand Continues to Rise

Philadelphia — Local entrepreneurs looking to run a business that makes a difference in the lives of families across Pennsylvania will soon have to look no further. BrightStar Care, a national franchise specializing in providing A Higher Standard of care in medical and non-medical in-home care services, has announced targeted development plans throughout Pennsylvania. The brand looks to add 8-10 territories over the next three to five years, and is seeking qualified franchise partners to join the fast-growing brand.

With over a dozen territories successfully operating throughout the state, and more than 17 territories available throughout Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Reading, Lancaster, York and more, Pennsylvania is a viable market for BrightStar Care to continue its rapid franchise expansion plans.

“In-home care is becoming more desirable for many individuals who don’t want to deal with continued hospital and doctor visits – even in younger age groups,” said Diana Hohmann, who owns BrightStar Care of Stroudsburg & Allentown with her husband John. “Each client we have has their own set of needs, and we’re able to accommodate them all through our in-home personalized care plans – we service everything from medical care, companionship, transportation, to short term rehabilitation.”

The U.S. Census Bureau estimates by 2025, more than one in five Pennsylvania residents will be 65 and older – even now the senior population is growing at a rate 20 times faster than the rest of the population, whereas younger age groups are beginning to decline. The demographics and aging population matched with a proven business model make Pennsylvania a prime market for BrightStar Care’s continued growth.

The aging population in Pennsylvania coupled with the fact that there is an undeniable need for quality in-home care services, makes our statewide expansion efforts an exciting development for BrightStar Care,” said Pete First, Senior Vice President of Franchise Development. “We are looking to develop in completely new cities throughout the state, and with that, we are eager to find local business leaders to build on this legacy and bring our first-in-class, quality home health care services to fruition in the area.”

In addition to the clients a BrightStar Care location serves, each employs RNs, therapists, LPNs, CNAs, and HHAs as part of their care staff. In its search for qualified applicants to expand the brand in Pennsylvania, BrightStar Care is looking for educated men and women who are self-motivated and have a high level of business acumen. Prospective franchisees must have the ability to manage and lead a team but are not required to have a healthcare background. It is important to note that qualified prospects must have liquid assets of $200,000 or more.

BrightStar Care offers both medical and non-medical private duty home health care services, as well as medical staffing. Each BrightStar Care location employs a Registered Nurse as their Director of Nursing who tailors unique, personalized plans of care for each client and oversees a professional care team of well-qualified, experienced caregivers. The company began franchising in 2005, and has since grown to a $500 million system with more than 330 locations across the United States.
