MADabolic Inks Multi-Unit Deal to Open Strength-Driven Gyms in Houston

HOUSTON – MADabolic, the industry’s original strength-driven interval training franchise, announces a newly signed agreement to bring its concept to Houston. For local go-getters looking for a new standard in group fitness, MADabolic has arrived. The studio will be locally owned and operated by Steve and Michelle Hatcher and their business partner Mike Dunn.

“MADabolic is a great workout and members are going to have a different experience every time they come in,” said Dunn. “I’ve spent over a decade practicing and training in mixed martial arts, so when I saw that MADabolic incorporates aspects of martial arts in its program, I was hooked.”

Founded in Charlotte, N.C. by former professional hockey players, Brandon Cullen and Kirk Dewaele, MADabolic’s distinctive concept is the first of its kind. Rather than over-emphasizing cardio, MADabolic treats strength as its base. This purposeful approach provides unparalleled results through strength-driven interval training.

“Michelle, Mike and I are committed to bringing this new type of fitness to Houston,” said Steve. “We wanted a concept with a personality, and combined with the unmatched workout program, we’re confident that MADabolic won’t get stale or boring and members will actually have to put in the work.”

Dunn and the Hatchers are planning to open five new MADabolic locations in the Houston-area over the next few years. With one MADabolic location currently open in Austin and one in-development in San Antonio, the group’s first gym will be the third MADabolic location in the state.

MADabolic’s signature interval system is crafted entirely around work-to-rest ratios, which presents a challenging-yet-accessible environment for each client. Each 50-minute class includes a detailed description of the workout, an in-depth demonstration of each movement, and a carefully structured warmup to match the specific demands of the daily workout.

“Too often in today’s fitness culture, consumers are led to believe that more is always better, when in actuality, better is better, period,” said Cullen. “With this signed agreement, we are confident that Steve, Michelle and Mike will create a passionate, enthusiastic following in the Houston market.”

MADabolic believes in the value of routine, which fosters a results-driven culture of go-getters who value structure, accountability and results.

The signed agreement in Houston comes as MADabolic continues to strengthen its system through franchising into key markets across the United States, including Arlington, Asheville, Atlanta, Austin, California, Charlotte, D.C., Greenville, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Raleigh and San Francisco. The brand is actively seeking qualified franchise prospects with a genuine interest in strength and interval training, as well as a connection to their local wellness community. They should also be willing to be hands-on with their business and confident in their ability to make it stand out in their market using the tools, support and resources provided by the MADabolic corporate team.

Ideal MADabolic franchisees are driven and passionate individuals that their members can look up to as role models, ranging from former elite athletes to everyday fitness enthusiasts.
