PHOENIX – WaveMAX Laundry, the leading laundromat franchise, recently revealed details for its 2020 expansion plans slated for the state of Arizona. Having already opened three laundromats in the area since September of last year, the Florida-based business is building off that momentum having inked two deals to bring locations to Scottsdale and Mesa with plans to open as many as 10 additional locations over the next three to five years.
Even amid a pandemic, WaveMAX continues to thrive and has elected to initiate an aggressive national expansion strategy targeting states like, California, Colorado and Texas. Arizona, specifically Phoenix is also part of this growth plan, as demand for trusted, quality laundromats continues to skyrocket. The brand’s Q1 and Q2 performance has primed it to forge ahead confidently into the remainder of the year as the demand for cleanliness among consumers and business owners is at an all-time high.
“Our team is looking to change the way people think of laundromats,” shared Mike Roberts, CEO of WaveMAX. “We’re raising the industry standard by bringing some much-needed innovation and modernization to the sector. Through our focus on service and technology, our goal is to improve the overall experience for our customers and provide them peace of mind as their clothes are cleaned effectively and efficiently in a safe environment. We look forward to expanding our footprint to serve even more communities in the Phoenix area.”
Each WaveMAX facility is outfitted with top-of-the-line equipment, featuring the industry’s most efficient and environmentally friendly washers and dryers. The washers conserve water by automatically weighing clothes and using the precise amount of water required for the best possible wash. The dryers have built-in sensors that determine the “dryness” of the clothes and automatically adjust the temperature for optimum drying.
The WaveMAX franchise is also already equipped for contact-less operation. Each machine has a contactless card system that allows customers to load value with cash, credit or EBT. In order to maximize efficiency, the app also alerts customers via text message about cycle-completion and can be used to check machine availability ahead of visiting the laundromat. This helps with traffic flow and frees-up machines for others to use sooner.
“Historically, laundromats have been another item on someone’s errand list that takes up precious time,” added Roberts. “With WaveMAX, most of our customers are in and out of our facilities in under an hour, so building our locations around efficiency was incredibly important to us.”
Time-starved customers can also take advantage of WaveMAX’s wash-and-fold service. Soap, dryer sheets, hangers, and storage bags are included, and service is typically completed within 24 hours after drop-off.
“Everything we offer is created with our customers in mind,” explained Craig Sawyers, who owns and operates two of the three existing locations in the area. “Between our efficient equipment, our drop-off services and our use of technology, we are changing the perception of vended laundry. Plus, all of these services provide customers with an awesome experience and that keeps them coming back.”
Today, there are 18 WaveMAX locations open and operating in six states, with nearly 100 additional locations throughout various stages of development across the country. WaveMAX is actively seeking partners to help the brand continue its positive growth through franchising. The estimated investment for a “30-30” store – 30 washers and 30 dryers in a 3,000-square-foot space – ranges between $600,000 and $800,000. This includes $250,000 in construction, $325,000 in equipment and a franchise fee of $49,950. Up to 75% of the total investment can be financed through WaveMAX’s equipment partner.
