LAKEWOOD, Colo. – Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning – one of the nation’s greenest carpet cleaning franchises is continuing its Texas expansion by opening a new location in the Houston area. The location, led by Kevin Joseph and Marlon Khan, is slated to begin serving the communities of Houston, Humble, Crosby, Atascocita, and Kingwood on October 1st.
Prior to opening their own Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning franchise, Marlon and Kevin each worked in the oil and gas industry for over 25 years. Both were originally from Trinidad and Tobago; Marlon worked in both the refurbishing oil refineries and the construction of new facilities, holding numerous supervisory and non-supervisory roles. Kevin served as a petroleum engineer and project manager where he was tasked with developing designs for onshore and offshore wells and increasing market share for an oilfield service company.
“We both always had dreams of owning our own business and after learning more about Oxi Fresh, it really felt like the perfect opportunity for us,” stated Kevin. “Being an Oxi Fresh franchisee provides us with a proven system that we can use to help grow our business in a new market.”
Since 2006, Oxi Fresh has been an industry leader in the carpet cleaning space. The brand’s proprietary oxygenated cleaning process uses about two gallons of water to clean a home, while traditional steam cleaners use 40-60 gallons. Because the process utilizes less water, carpets cleaned by Oxi Fresh usually dry in about an hour, far less than the 12-24 hours that other cleaners require. The brand estimates that its unique cleaning process has saved the planet tens of millions of gallons of water.
“In addition to the strong corporate culture and company history, this new location provides us with the opportunity to serve others, which is something that Kevin and I are both very passionate about,” noted Marlon. “We are very excited to share Oxi Fresh’s high quality carpet cleanings with the Houston community.”
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Oxi Fresh has also been providing important services in markets across the country, such as their hard surface disinfecting service that meets the EPA’s benchmark for use against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19. While providing these important services, Oxi Fresh operators are required to maintain social distancing guidelines, wear the proper personal protective equipment, and follow the CDC’s guidelines for cleanliness and hygiene.
“Dedicated franchisees like Marlon and Kevin that strive to provide our customers with access to high quality, eco-friendly carpet cleanings are what help continue to propel Oxi Fresh to new heights,” stated Oxi Fresh CEO and founder Jonathan Barnett. “We are excited that Oxi Fresh’s presence will continue to expand in Texas and are eager for Marlon and Kevin to open their doors and serve the Houston community.”
