BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. (December 22, 2015) – Get ready to hang ten with a new food truck in Broward County. Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream—a fast-growing mobile franchise specializing in Hawaiian shaved ice and ice cream—has partnered with Broward County, Fla. entrepreneurs David Demarest and Jack DiSalvo to bring the Coolest Truck On Earth™ to the area. Demarest and DiSalvo are longtime friends and business partners. Delivering an inviting and entertaining experience to every destination, the Broward County Tikiz truck now services Cooper City, Dania, Davie, Ft. Lauderdale, Hallandale, Lighthouse Point, Margate, Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Plantation, Weston, Pompano Beach, Tamarac, Parkland, Deerfield beach, Southwest Ranches, Coral Springs, Hollywood, and Sunrise.
Whether Tikiz’s refreshing Hawaiian shaved ice or ice cream is enjoyed at a birthday party, school fundraiser or other community event, consumers can expect to be transported to the tropics. With steel drum music roaring, colorful neon lights dancing and water misters cooling off crowds on warm days, the food truck’s presence provides a vacation-like atmosphere.
Demarest has been in the rental industry for over 30 years. Demarest and DiSalvo are also proud owners of South Florida Bounce and Slide. “We jumped at the opportunity when we saw how well the family fun concept fit with our existent business,” said Demarest. “Jack and I both have children between nine and 11, so we understand how important it is to provide children a safe and fun environment that fosters an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind experience.”
Tikiz’s shaved ice and ice cream products are low-fat, gluten-free, contain no high-fructose corn syrup and are Smart Snack approved, per the guidelines set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Fat-free and complete with a gumball at the bottom of each cup, the Hawaiian shaved ice can be enjoyed in any combination of 10 syrup flavors, including a sugar-free option. Ice cream rounds out the Tikiz’s menu with a wide range of ice cream bars and sandwiches.
Wrapped in a Hawaiian beach-theme, the custom-built Tikiz truck is decked out with traditional surfboard signage and décor. With a patented “Surv-Board™” dispenser, guests can customize their own fruit syrup creations. Each unit is based off all-new, heavy-duty and fuel-efficient Ford truck platforms that are built from the ground up with numerous custom components. For example, the self-contained water system and high-output batteries allow operators to produce more than 400 shaved ice servings per hour and eliminate the need for noisy generators so guests can enjoy the fun, tropical tunes.
Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream is available for birthday parties, fundraisers, school events, summer camps, daycares, youth sporting events, church functions, corporate events, carnivals, picnics, barbecues, movie nights, festivals and more. Tikiz also offers a FUNdraising program, donating 20 percent of the day’s sales back to the event or supporting cause.
“The Tikiz FUNdraising program makes fundraising less stressful and adds an entertaining element to local charity events, all while driving donations,” Demarest added. “We believe that our rental party background experience will really add to the lively tropical atmosphere that is Tikiz.”
