Potbelly Sandwich Shop to Open Peoria Location

PEORIA, Ill. – Potbelly Sandwich Shop announced today that its newest shop, a franchise location in Peoria, will open to the public on March 1st, 2017. The widely acclaimed neighborhood hangout will be located at 10408 N. Centerway Drive near Schnucks and Great Clips.

Potbelly is known for its signature sandwiches, hand-dipped milkshakes and live, local music. Their shops have earned a reputation in communities across the United States for having delicious food, fun décor and fresh tunes. Jeff and Kim Ackerman, the new sandwich shop’s operating partners, are also the owners of the existing Potbelly in East Peoria, which opened in 2013.

“We have been looking for the right spot to open a second location for almost two years and we believe we have found it,” said Jeff Ackerman. “Kim and I hope that everyone will be excited to finally have one on this side of the river, and that they’re excited about the drive-through too!”

The new Potbelly location will have a drive-through, which will make the shop even more convenient for loyal fans who are on the go. The restaurant will include localized decor to represent the Peoria Chiefs, the Peoria Rivermen, Bradley University, Caterpillar, Maui Jim, and many more iconic Peoria staples. The Ackermans are looking to hire 25 to 30 employees, including local musicians to perform on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the week, and delivery will be available Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Jeff and Kim have worked hard to make Potbelly a local East Peoria favorite, and we’re confident they’ll be able to extend our vibes across the entire area.”

Potbelly Sandwich Shop first opened in Chicago in 1977, and now includes more than 400 shops across the United States. There are also 30-plus franchise shops in the United States and abroad, and the company is projecting more franchised shops to open in 2017.
